The Minister of Information and Communications Technology Seyed Sattar Hashemi has emphasized the role of smart government ecosystems in integrating the services of ministries and government agencies.
“Leveraging technological and data capabilities requires
cooperation and synergy among government bodies,” he stated in a meeting with
the Agriculture Minister Gholamreza Nouri on Tuesday.
In this regard, he stressed the importance of expanding
cooperation between the ICT Ministry and the Agriculture Ministry.
Referring to
the design and development of smart government ecosystems, Hashemi said, “These
ecosystems have been designed across various dimensions, including security and
infrastructure components, as well as higher-level layers such as interagency
services.”
Transferring
Government Services to Government Cloud
Hashemi noted
the ICT Ministry’s legal mandate to establish the Government Cloud, adding that
under the mandate, all government services and systems must be transferred to
the Government Cloud according to a specified timetable.
“The
infrastructure for this platform has been established across several provincial
data centers,” he said.
Emphasizing
that the designed ecosystems will operate on the Government Cloud, he said, “One
of their most important features is the provision of a technical arm alongside
various government agencies to develop technological capabilities, which can
help facilitate and accelerate the implementation of tasks.”
The ICT
Minister referred to numerous systems operated by government agencies to
provide services, explaining that at the current stage, the smart government
ecosystems will not interfere with the operation of these systems.
“The
agencies’ existing systems will continue to operate, while the ecosystems will
receive information from those systems and use it to provide the necessary
services to citizens.”
Role of Private
Sector in Smart Services
Hashemi highlighted
the role of the private sector in providing around-the-clock services through
smart government ecosystems.
“Involving
the private sector in delivering services to citizens through these ecosystems
would significantly reduce the government’s workload while creating conditions
for faster and more effective service delivery,” he stated.
Referring to
successful cooperation between the ICT Ministry and the Ministry of
Agriculture, he added “Using communications data and other technological
capabilities can contribute to more accurate decision-making, better resource
management, and more effective public services.”
He emphasized
that developing smart services and completing digital ecosystems requires
cooperation and synergy among government agencies and expressed ICT Ministry’s readiness
to strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture in satellite data,
communications infrastructure, smart systems, and applications of artificial
intelligence.
Two
Ministries Sign Cooperation Agreement
At the end of the meeting, the ICT Ministry and the Ministry
of Agriculture signed a cooperation agreement aimed at collaborating on the
architecture and implementation of smart government ecosystems.
